How to Write Landing Page Copy That Converts

Your landing page headline has about five seconds to convince someone to keep reading. That means it needs to be specific. “We help businesses grow” tells nobody anything. “Build a complete website in 30 minutes” gives them a reason to stay.

The subheadline expands on the headline. It answers the natural follow-up question: how? If your headline says what the visitor gets, the subheadline explains the mechanism. Keep it to one or two sentences.

CTA buttons work best when they describe the action from the visitor’s perspective. “Get My Free Report” outperforms “Submit” because it tells people what happens when they click. Match the CTA tone to the rest of the page.

Feature blocks should lead with the benefit, not the feature name. People do not care that you have “real-time sync.” They care that their data is always up to date across every device. Translate technical specs into outcomes your audience actually wants.

Social proof works because people trust other people more than they trust marketing copy. Even a simple line like “Join 1,000+ founders who already use this” adds credibility. If you have specific testimonials or numbers, use those instead.

FAQs do double duty on a landing page. They answer real objections that stop people from converting, and they give search engines more keyword-rich content to index. Write the questions your actual customers ask, not the ones you wish they would ask.
